Tank Davis Stops Ryan Garcia in Seventh Round To Claim Supremacy in Boxing

Unbeaten fighters Ryan Garcia (23–0) and Gervonta Davis (28–0) crossed paths in the ring on April 22, 2023, at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, and they were expected to provide a highly contested matchup between two fighters that had a competitive grudge, were currently in their primes, and were both battling for supremacy in boxing. Ultimately, the bout quickly became a one-sided affair instead of a thriller.

California native Ryan Garcia came into the fight brimming with confidence after rising to the professional ranks and defeating the opposition with his quick hand speed, fast movement, and devastating left hook. His skillset allowed him to register nineteen career knockouts throughout his professional career. Garcia came in with a height (1.74 M) and arm reach (178 cm) advantage when compared with the shorter (1.66 M) Gervonta Davis, who conceded all measurables to Garcia. Gervonta (Tank) Davis does not possess great stature and arm reach (171 cm), but those deficits were not enough to help Garcia get an edge during the fight.
